For more than 170 years, St. Theresa of Avila has promoted active Catholic life in New Orleans. From providing a Catholic parish for German and Irish immigrants throughout the 1800s and 1900s to educating children, St. Theresa has contributed to the spiritual and social welfare of New Orleans since 1848.
As New Orleans's Hispanic community increase, our parish has evolved to meet the needs of Spanish-speaking Catholics and to serve a broader-based community.
